Look at the photos of our first Street Painting event during our Massey Centennial Celebration

We are very sorry to announce that we won't be able to have a festival this year, September 2008 !!

Sadly enough nobody came forward to take over the management and the former manager/organizer had to step back because of personal reasons.

Street Painting Festival
September
in Massey, Ontario, Canada

We are still looking for students, families or friends who want to join us and draw their painting on the pavement along side the professional artists. It will be an experience of a lifetime -  you won't forget and the best part is ....it is for free.

How To Do Street painting??

Street painting has been known as a form of artistic
expression throughout Europe since the 16th century.
Italy is famous for their street painters, who were called "madonnari"

This refers to the reproduction of paintings
of the Madonna while celebrating a religious fest.
They used sawdust, flower petals and coloured sand to create paintings on the streets.
These travelling artists made a living from coins thrown by spectators.
There are people who strongly believe that this tradition of creating paintings on the ground goes back even further to ancient times when the Aztecs in Mexico made icons of their gods.

No matter where it came from, it has ranked high in
popularity in Europe for many many years and even
crossed over to the States, where these festivals are
mostly known as Italian Street Painting Festivals.
